Langtang Valley Trek
10
Days
Overview
- Kyanjin Gompa and views of Langtang Lirung (7,227m)
- Tamang villages rebuilt since the 2015 earthquake
- Optional Tserko Ri viewpoint side-hike (4,984m)
- Shortest approach drive of any of our classic routes
The closest major Himalayan valley to Kathmandu, and one that's been rebuilt by its own communities since the 2015 earthquake. A gentler altitude profile than Everest or Annapurna makes this a good first high-mountain trek, without giving up real Himalayan scenery — Langtang Lirung dominates the skyline for most of the route.

“Recommended this as a shorter option since I only had 10 days off, and it delivered — Kyanjin Gompa views were up there with anything I've seen on longer treks.”
★★★★★
“Good to see the lodges rebuilt and thriving. Our guide grew up in the valley and pointed out exactly what had changed since the earthquake, which added a lot.”
★★★★☆
“Easier than I braced for, in a good way — meant I actually enjoyed the last two days instead of just surviving them.”
